98 R1 track bike project

It doesn't look like much right now but I am looking forward to turning this recently purchased 1998 Yamaha R1 into a track bike for track days, etc. I've owned almost all generations of the R1 and in my opinion nothing compares to the first generations untainted and raw power. Also these first years of the R1 are roughly 50 lbs lighter than the new ones which will make for a nice cornering machine. Stay tuned for updates!
