The Zündapp KS 750 A

At the end of the 1930s a motorcycle model KS 750 was developed by Zündapp Werke GmbH plant in Nuremberg and accepted by the Wehrmacht. It was designed for off-road rides over a very rough terrain and, as such, had higher off-road capacity and manoeuvrability; it was also used for reconnaissance, transporting military personnel and various cargo, and for the evacuation of the wounded.
The Zündapp KS 750 was equipped with a horizontally-opposed, twin-cyliunder, 4-stroke engine with 751 cc capacity and 26 h.p. at 4000 rpm., it had a wheel suspension control system (that could take into account the road surface condition), an economy driving system preventing engine overheating, magneto ignition and a fuel tank emergency filter which would allow to continue riding even when the tank was pierced. The motorcycle could get across smaller water obstacles with its engine being submerged. With the sidecar, this motorcycle had a mass of 420 kg, but it was, nevertheless, simple to control and reliable to operate. The sidecar featured torsion-bar suspension, having a wheel drive and brake from the rear axle of the motorcycle. Ammunition pouches were affixed on the left and right of its body while at the front a machine gun was mounted.

The Zündapp KS 750 motorcycles intended for European countries were painted dark grey and did not have a single brightwork, while motorcycles to be engaged in North Africa were painted dark yellow.
From 1940 to 1944 the Zündapp Werke, GmbH plant manufactured 18635 KS 750 motorcycles.
