Lamp error code

Just installed rear LED blinkers on 2012. I used OEM harness and put male connectors on blinker wires so I could use OEM female connectors. Left one work perfect. Right one works normal for few seconds then lamp error code appears and light starts blinking fast. Anyone know how to fix?

I did the same thing on a 2015 using a DMP integrated and it has worked fine for 3800 miles so far. no errors :ok:

Let me guess - they are not BMW LEDs? Sounds like one is defective.

I installed OEM BMW LED blinkers on my 2015 using the harness splice method and no errors have come up after a few hours of riding.

Franklyn, Is there a relay built in?

Elizabeth, Why would there be a relay?

          Franklyn, Sorry, resistors, not relays.

Elizabeth, There is nothing that I can see, pretty much the wire comes out of the turn signal and goes straight into the wiring harness. I've read that the resister is actually a part of the LED itself.

the LAMP! error that blocks my visibility to see the temp on the bike is by far the thing I HATE the most about this bike. Really hate it. A Lot.

I have a GS-911 purchased about a year and a half ago, and the bike is a 2010. I thought I read somewhere that they updated the software so that you can turn off the LAMP! warning. I sure hope so. I opened the software last night but the "check for updates" button was greyed out, probably because you have to have the GS911 plugged in and on, with an internet connection, to evaluate it.

I rode the bike to work for the first time today after the installation of the replacement engine. It is nice to be able to ride again, even though I still have a couple of bugs to work out.

Raymond Lopez, YES! You can delete that silly message with the GS911. Plug it in to your computer, get the latest (I think that change was about 5 or 6 updates ago) software, you don't even need the beta, the latest full release will work. Then hook up the bike and check the "special coding" dropdown menu. It will have an option to turn off the lamp alert or some silly thing like that. And like magic, your temp display will be back.

Look .. you bought the OEM LEDs. They are already set to the right resistance for the ECU and the CANBUS network. The OP wasn't entirely clear about what he bought and probably didn't buy OEM LEDs because he had to monkey with connectors. Will have to figure that out by asking the manufacturer or searching for other owner's solutions for those blinkers. On a 2012 he should be able to set the LAMPx errors off via the setup menu, but to solve the fast blinking he needs a resistor.

Franklyn, My friend with a 2011 tells me there's a setting in the GS 911 that changes from incandescent to led. Gonna tray that vs. resistors for my aftermarket LED blinkers.
