My escape to Saxon Switzerland

We are on our way to Saxon Switzerland, take my word - this is the place you should put into your future route in Germany!

For 5 days you can drive a lot of kilometers, lots of gorgeous places, a few places where you can hang in waiting for the right moment to take photos, put the necessary trash and camera into the central bag, a tool and a raincoat into the side bag. For 2 years without the long-distance journeys, I even forgot what I need to carry along with me on a long journey, as a result, I did not take a lot of things, and did not regret it at all. The day before the departure being at work I was walking around the motorcycle all the time, worried…. No, I really was afraid, because I had numerous emergency adventures during my moto experience. But I never had such jitters before leaving…

A separate story is my new horse - Africa Twin, this is an interesting motorcycle, very original, strong, courageous, we have passed not few kilometers while have got used to each other! But now we ride proudly at a speed of 120-150 (in very rare cases) scaring wild animals with the roar of direct flow.

Dresden ...

Görlitz...

Saxon Switzerland (Sächsische Schweiz in German) is the German part of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. It is located on the upper course of the Elbe River near Dresden. This German national park, located in the land of Sachsen, a few dozen kilometers from Dresden, is known for its unique landscape of sandstone mountains. In principle, the land around is very picturesque, and if you are going on a trip to Germany, then you should think about and make a route with a minimum of highways, and the maximum of local roads. I always say - Germany begins at the exit from the highway. Hilly area, narrow paths, lovely little towns. None of big cities in Germany is able to express the charm that thousands of small authentic village towns carry in themselves.
Starting at lunch time from Görlitz, (not admiring the magnificent scenery along the way, as I was hurrying to the main object of photography) very soon I was in Rathen, a spa town, which is on the opposite bank of the Elbe. The view here is very, very picturesque. Having crossed the other coast on a non-motor ferry, went to Bastai. I want to note that the place is very popular with tourists, it's not worth to go here in spring, on weekends and holidays, as there will be too many people. I was lucky, I arrived on a weekday, and there were not many people. The way to the top took no more than 20 minutes. I think, my comments will be unnecessary!

The way home was like a big piece at one sitting, in the best traditions of my travels! The sun was warming, my bike pleased me and it was really easy to make 1300 km in a day! I believe, it had sense to get wet for a few days for such frames!!!!
