The most popular tourist enduro BMW R1200GS is rarely found in customizing, and the reason is the high price of the motorcycle, even on the secondary market. The German bike, on the other hand, is an excellent basis for off-road design. Kaichiro Kurosu of Cherry’s Company has received a unique opportunity to change the BMW R1200GS.
“At first, the client didn’t have a clear idea,” says Kaichiro Kurosu. “Then he started planning an adventure tour around Europe and Asia, so we decided to choose a BMW R 1200 GS.”
The wish list contained a couple of requests. The client wanted to keep the riding position and its comfort. Kurosu also added a couple of conditions on himself. He decided not to modify the frame, and not to mess with the complex electrical and electronic systems.
“The GS is a high quality motorcycle. If I’d removed the technology, I would have taken a step back. The owner is planning to go on a tough journey, and electronic control is extremely important, as the owner will also need to get maintenance from BMW dealers around the world,” Kurosu adds.
