Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has revealed a new tilting three-wheeler, the Niken at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.
& The & Yamaha Niken is based on the popular MT-09 platform and it has two & wheels at the front which enhance the grip when leaning into corners. The Yamaha Niken is the first production leaning three-wheeler. & President of Yamaha Hiroyuki Yanagi unveiled the three-wheeler in Tokyo. & The company calls it as a Leaning Multi-Wheeler (LMW). The overall & styling of the three-wheeler is aggressive with a sharp and edgy design. The front end of the Niken features two 15-inch wheels with dual-tube & upside-down forks on each wheel. Both the wheels operate independently & and lean when going around a corner. The twin headlamp setup and a & beak-shaped front cowl with a windscreen enhance the looks of the & three-wheeler.
Yamaha has revealed that the Niken will draw power from a liquid-cooled, & fuel injected, inline three-cylinder engine. The engine capacity and & other technical details will be announced at the EICMA motorcycle show & in Milan on November 6, 2017.
Yamaha states the Niken will be equipped with the Leaning Multi-Wheel & Technology which will reduce the effect of changing road surface and & provides stability when going around corners. The Niken also features & wide single piece handlebar and a digital instrument cluster.
Yamaha & is the not the first manufacturer to reveal such a three-wheeler. & Piaggio had previously developed a similar vehicle called as MP3. The & Niken looks stylish and the twin front wheels do not spoil the looks of & the vehicle.
