Harley-Davidson CEO Matt Levatich has said interesting news during the financial report.
We’ve already heard that Harley-Davidson will close down its Kansas City factory and consolidate production around its York, Pennsylvania plant, but it’s not the most interesting. The Milwaukee-headquartered motorcycle manufacturer will make its first production electric motorcycle within the next 18 months!
The Harley-Davidson’s concept Livewire will become reality by mid-2019, according to the CEO. The manufacturer took 22 electric bikes on a U.S. tour, offering exclusive test drives, in order to solicit reactions to the possibility of bringing an electric motorbike to full production. In the end, the project received a green light, and it is now actively developing.
The Livewire concept was developed on the basis of the technologies of the nonexistent Mission Motors company.
