Kawasaki will introduce the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R as the 2019 year model. There were a lot of rumors, circulating for a long time, but now we have some details to share. The new model was registered with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). According to the documents, the novelty will be equipped with a 636-cc engine and produce roughly half the emissions of the previous model.
Obviously, all manufacturers are getting ready for the coming wave of Euro5 emission regulations, so the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is no exception. The manufacturer had to make sacrifices so that the motorcycle would pollute the environment less. The big change in the emissions scheme for the ZX-6R is a three-way closed-loop catalyst, which replaces the two-way oxidizing catalyst on the previous model, which makes the bike heavier.
According to rumors, the peak power output will modestly drop from 129hp to 128hp. Meanwhile, the weight will also increase, going from 194 to 196kg. The 2019 model will get wider than the previous edition, by a quarter-inch; it will be shorter too by 2.5 inches; and it will be lower than its predecessor, by half an inch. We can expect other changes to the bodywork and electronics.
We can expect the 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R to be presented at EICMA or Intermot this year.
