Two pro motorcycle racers began fighting while racing in Costa Rica in February. After one of the craziest incidents at the track both of them got two-year bans.
Jorge Martinez and Marion Calvo started throwing hands after colliding with one another during the first round of Costa Rica's National Motorbike Championship.Calvo sent Martinez off balance, which caused him to lose control of the bike.
This unpleasant situation led to Martinez clinging on to the back of the bike and forced Calvo to pull over to the side. When the bike finally came to a stop, Martinez attacked Calvo by throwing a punch while he was still on his bike. The punch sent the rider off his bike straight on to the grass off to the side.
But Calvo ran back after Martinez and tried to continue the fight on the track, while the race had already continued! Calvo pushed the rival while he walked back to pick up his bike on the opposite side of the track.
Both racers were disqualified, but then the Latin American Motorcycle Association agreed to give a bigger punishment - 2-year suspensions for both riders-fighters.
It seems we won’t see the rematch!
