An NYPD cop who had just confiscated an illegal dirt bike in Harlem decided to ride it back to the 32 Precinct station house himself Sunday, but ended up falling hard and injuring himself after quickly losing control of the vehicle, police sources said.

The video shows Officer Brian Hinton pop a wheelie — apparently unintentionally — then awkwardly ride through a red light and into traffic on Lenox Avenue and 135th Street at about 6 p.m.

After nearly hitting a car coming into the intersection, he skids out, slamming his body and head on the pavement.

Men and women who were on the street can be heard ridiculing the cop after he fell.

“Hell, yeah!” one man could be heard yelling in the video.

A woman can also be heard laughing at the cops.

A police source said they found the illegal dirt bike ditched at the intersection by someone who been driving it recklessly through traffic, and it had to be vouchered at a local precinct.

Hinton was riding it back to the nearby 32nd Precinct station house, according to the source.The incident is under review by the NYPD, cops said.

Hinton sustained an injury to his shoulder and was treated and released at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, NYPD spokeswoman Jessica McRorie said.

A second officer suffered minor injuries while stopping another rider, police sources said.

According to the NYPD patrol guide, police are permitted to drive confiscated vehicles to voucher them.

“That’s how you bring the bikes back if you don’t have a trailer to put them on,” a police source said. “You can’t leave them in the street.”
