The motorcycles of the future will be surely more advanced, even more intelligent and high-tech. Autonomous and semi-autonomous technology is developing fast. This means, more radar and sensors will be definitely seen on motorcycles. According to rumors, Ducati and KTM are already working in this direction, with Kawasaki, joining them with a new patent filing.
The company recently filed a patent for a new radar system for its bikes.Kawasaki fitted the radar in the patent filing to the Kawasaki Versys. There are both front and rear radars. It can be installed on almost any motorcycle.
The front radar measures the distance between the bike and the vehicle in front. It’s connected to the ABS system and electronic throttle. Basically, we are talking about automatic braking. The rear radar monitors the vehicles behind the motorcycle, and alerts the rider to a car approaching too fast. The idea is that the rider is aware of the situation behind and is able to react and avoid an accident.
