We all know there’s a bigger Honda Africa Twin in the works. In fact, we posted about this a few months ago. Now, thanks to a new report which claims to have leaked some specifications of this upcoming adventure bike, we can say that the new Africa Twin will make its world debut later this year.
The upcoming Honda is likely to be called the CRF1100L, clearly suggesting it will be now powered by a new 1100cc parallel-twin engine. In fact, it will be a 1084cc motor that will churn out 101bhp -7bhp more than the current model. The peak power will continue to arrive at 7500rpm. There’s some increase in the torque figures too. This new motor will meet the Euro 5 emission norms, so there will be use of catalytic converters as well.
According to the same report, the 2020 Africa Twin will be available in four versions – one variant for the A2 licence holders and a hardcore Adventure Sports version. Both the bikes will have the DCT models as well. In terms of design, this Honda is expected to get a revised front and tail section. Plus, there are some changes being made on the seat height as well. The fuel-tank will be larger too, so will be the windscreen.
We are expecting Honda to unveil this new Africa Twin at the 2019 EICMA Show.
