To participate in various supermoto competitions of the year 1989, Stéphane Peterhansel used a real prototype prepared in the race workshop of Team Sonauto Yamaha.
This YZ 490 is equipped with a liquid-cooled JPX kit . (cylinder, piston, segment and cylinder head) Engine with a displacement of 535 cm3 which allows it to deliver a power of about 56 horsepower. It is also equipped with large front and rear disc brakes and an Öhlins shock absorber. At his handlebar, in 1989, Stéphane Peterhansel won the Supermotard event at Monthléry, near Paris, in front of the American drivers.
This bike remained for 25 years in the Yamaha Motor France collection. It is now available in France, in Paris. It completes, of origin of time. It has not rolled since 1989 and the victory of Stéphane Peterhansel.
