While the social media accounts of many of today’s lifestyle brands and custom motorcycle shops give us a curated glimpse of idyllic, carefree lives, filled with piloting one-off bikes in exotic beachside locales and exploring faraway lands on two-wheels, Indonesia’s Joy Ride Motocamp actually gives riders the chance to experience it first hand. Based on the picturesque island of Bali, JRM offers bespoke bike rentals and/or guided tours, as well as maintaining an impressive custom bike building operation.
The Balinese shop’s latest build was commissioned by a client that had previously piloted one of JRM’s rentable customs, and now wanted one of his own. With the customer wanting nimble and flickable performance akin to that of a supermoto, JRM head honcho, Geri Centura opted for a 2008 Yamaha SX225 (aka Scorpio Z) donor. The bike has been treated to an inverted fork conversion with bespoke fork guards, stacked projector headlight, ProTaper bars, one-off tank with custom JRM badges, and a custom kicked-up subframe capped off with a matching scrambler-style saddle. The quarter-liter single was also bored out and given a six titanium spring clutch setup, and a bespoke exhaust. To learn more, check out the Joy Ride Motocamp.
