The box is opened 80 years after the manufacturer sealed it. Museum curators don't know what to expect inside…

A collector since the 1960s had in his possession an original, never-opened, transport case made by the Indian Motorcycle Company. The chest weighs 92 kilograms. The Collector held off on opening it for nearly 60 years. Could you do it?

Now the box has gone to the World War II motorcycle museum, the Wheels through time Museum. The curators decided to open the box – for the first time since the 1940s when it was sealed by a manufacturer.

The serial numbers printed on the chest don't reveal much. It is known that there will be an engine inside, but the weight of 93 kg suggests that the unit may be too heavy for an Indian Scout engine.

After removing the safety wires, and unscrewing the lid of the box, the museum's curators see the engine in perfect condition. It has a carburetor with original casings and has everything you need. It would probably take 15 minutes of work to get it running.
