Peter Hickman became the winner of today’s practice session, as riders returned on track for Isle of Man TT qualifying this evening.
Hickman, Smith’s Racing’s rider, became the fastest man tonight and topped Superbikes timesheets with a flying lap of 132.806mph, his personal best ever lap of the TT circuit. Manxman Conor Cummins finished second fastest. The rider guided his Honda to a 17m15.470s at 131.175mph.
What about the Tyco BMW team? The team, which lost a great rider Dan Kneen during yesterday’s session. The father of the rider blessed the team to continue. In a statement released on Thursday morning, Dan's father Richard thanked the racing community for their support, and said the Tyco team has his “full backing” to “crack on”. There were no other variants, and Michael Dunlop took the third position on his S1000RR in the Superbike classification.
Dean Harrison, the leader of Monday and Tuesday’s sessions, was fourth with a lap of 130.612mph. David Johnson on his Gulf BMW completed the top five.
In the Superstock ranking, Aussie David Johnson showed the fastest time of the night with a 129.202, being ahead of Hickman (128.381), Silicone Engineering Kawasaki rider Harrison’s 128.246 and MD Racing’s Michael Dunlop with a 128.012.
